Bombilla Organic Yerba Mate Tea

Posted

Pros: Not bitter, not super "mate-y" (for those who don't like that taste)

Cons: A tiny bit sweeter than I'd like

So to be totally fair, I've only had the Mint & Honey Bombilla Mate Tea.  I can safely say, I enjoyed it.  I like a good mate...this tea is not particularly mate-like, in that the mate flavor is very understated.  But for those folks who are looking for an alternative to coffee or energy drinks, this will give you a bit of a boost, without the kind of earthy mate taste.

I found the Mint & Honey kind not to be particularly minty, but it was pleasant.  It was just a little sweeter than I wanted...but it's not sweeter than your average Arizona Iced Tea.  And although I found it a bit sweet, it's only got 40 calories per 8 ounces (while Arizona Green Tea with Ginseng & Honey comes in with 70 calories per 8 ounces).

I also appreciate that it's USDA organic and made with Eco Teas Mate.  So while it didn't completely knock my socks off, I'd probably get it again.
