A.O. Smith GPVH-50 ProMax Power Vent Storage Water Heater

The ProMax® Power-Vent 40 and 50-gallon residential gas water heaters are equipped
with A. O. Smith’s patented C3 Technology® design, and meet Phase II of the ANSI Z21.10.1
standards for flammable vapor ignition resistance. In addition A. O. Smith has engineered
other enhancements into its power-vent design, for easier installation and maximum venting
flexibility. A power-vent water heater provides an alternative to conventional vertical-vent
models, which require the use of a metal vent. They provide a solution to potential venting
problems in replacement applications and offer versatile options for placement

Pros: None at all

My A.O. Smith heater is only 5 years old. In that short span of time I have had to have the pilot assembly replaces, serviced twice, pulled off its base and serviced, it has cost me fee to have the dryer vent cleaned as well as the fluke.   This has all been down at various times in a 3 year period. I have been told that each item is required to keep the pilot light on. I now live life constantly checking that the pilot light is on and wondering  what the next course of action might be.


I do not recommend that this water heater is purchased.

Cons: breaks often

										
										
I have had this heater for 3 1/2 years now and it had to be fixed 3 times already. Twice the blower unit had to be replaced and once the controller. It's going to cost me double the price originally paid soon. You have to constantly go see the indicator lights to make sure none are on, otherwise the whole thing shuts down. So I find this very unreliable. But when it works, it works fine.
