Pros: Good anchor for a boat
Cons: Never worked from day one

Amana does not stand behind their products.  You get the circular treatment, they pass you off to the dealer who passes you off to the warranty, who passes you back to the dealer and you have the circular path of no one takes any responsibility for the product.  This product has major design flaws as did an earlier Amana washer and Amana knows this as I have a letter where they talk about the design flaw, but if you mention the design flaw they just ignore it with this response, "well there is nothing more we can do."  DO NOT buy Amana

Cons: The Wire harness and control board fail often and must be replaced.
The machine breaks down far too often to consider it a good buy.  I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AN AMANA MACHINE AGAIN.

Pros: Uses little water and electricity
Cons: None

Unbelievably quiet and effective clothes washer which uses approximately $11.00 per year to operate.

Pros: Gets clothes cleaner, uses 12 gallons of water vs 50 (typical) fairly quiet, large capacity, seperate power off switch so you can leave door open
Cons: front loaders take longer to wash than top loaders

This is one amazing washer, it gets clothes cleaner than most top loaders, uses way less water, important for someone like me on a well in a very drought striken area.  It actually takes LONGER to complete a wash load typically 1 hour or more than a fairly standard 40 minutes or less for a comperable size load in a top loader.  But since I am not manually washing them and the energy use is way less than the older top loader that I had, what do I really care.  A nice feature is that this washer has a manual on and off button, which means that you can leave the door open and shut the washer off when not in use-front loaders have problems with mold and mildew building up in them unless you leave the door and detergent door open to allow air to circulate.  I love this washer.  I also bought the matching dryer and an energy effecient dishwasher.  So look for those reviews as well
