It appears the ice maker motor is a chronically ill cheaply designed replacement item that will cost you over $280 each time it breaks down. Mine froze up 3 times in 7 months. Repair person told me it will happen again and to buy a warraanty policy. Why should a consumer buy a warranty policy on a part that is known to be defective. All consumers should get savvy and file a complaint with Amana now owned by Whirlpool or manufacturer will not pay attention to defective manufactured parts.
